Our Architecture Department has been acquired
We are excited to announce that the architectural department of NorthStar’s portfolio has been acquired by Studio W Architects, a California based architecture firm.
Over the past decade at NorthStar our architects have worked with some incredible clients in tribal healthcare and education and we are proud of the work we have done. During that same decade, our civil engineering department had opportunities to partner with Studio W's architectural team on a wide range of projects, and discovered we had shared values and a shared vision to enrich the fabric of the communities we serve.
We began to recognize that in order to expand our offerings to clients in the North State, we needed to grow the capacity of the architectural team. Collaborating with Studio W Architects over so many years created a unique opportunity that has led to this amazing win-win for both companies as well as for our clients. For them the acquisition is representative of their commitment to growth in the Northern California market and broadening their expertise in tribal and healthcare facilities. We are excited to see them build on the foundation we started and believe that this transition will also expand our opportunity to serve current and future clients.
Both of our companies have a long history of public works, educational, healthcare and commercial design expertise. The merger unifies the architectural staff of both groups under the Studio W Architects brand and offers our clients best in class resources from both companies moving forward.
What does this mean for our clients?
Because of our pre-existing relationship it is our expectation that our clients will experience very little change in the day to day work we are doing. The architectural team will continue to work out of the current NorthStar location, with Studio W Architects taking over a portion of our building to establish their Chico office.
Current architecture clients can anticipate continuing their work with Ty Yurkovic, AIA and Sean Shearer, AIA along with the rest of the team as this transition happens. All current and future architectural projects will move forward under the Studio W Architects banner.
